A broken heart navigates sun scorched American highways in search of redemption.

However, rather than finding peace of mind, our (anti) hero succumbs instead to the charms of Hollywood and becomes embroiled in a sexual adventure to the soundtrack of 80’s avant garde pop. More than just a fictional character, Walter Sobcek is a concept, a story which needs to be heard.

This epic tale is the result of an encounter between a French musician, living in Berlin and a fan of funky guitars, and a Parisian producer entranced by his trusty Vocoder. The duo, who prefer to remain in the shadows, have succeeded, in only a few months, to impose a sound which belongs only to them: smooth music. Mellow, ethereal, tender and meticulously produced, their music takes you on a melancholic jaunt through a positive force field. From Fleetwood Mac on MDMA, to Phoenix burnt out by Los Angeles excess, from Donald Fagen doped to the hilt on Human Growth Hormone to Sebastian Teller newly waxed, Walter Sobcek draws on these influences and creates transatlantic melodies and inimitable remixes. The French combo Housse de Racket did not hesitate to call the enigmatic Walter when they needed a remix, a new take on their smash hit “ Oh Yeah!”.

Chapter 1 is a work in progress and “Je me souviens” will be the very first single to be released by Walter. Imbued with melancholy , he attempts to forget his failed love affair and drowns his sorrows in a plethora of X rated relationships. Will he eventually rise above it all or will he sink deeper into the abyss? One can only hope for an Indian summer to come to his salvation and who knows, perhaps in the shade of the West Coast palm trees, Walter Sobcek will find at last a certain tranquillity.
