Robotaki is an electro/pop producer from Toronto, Canada. He’s been producing music for the last three years and has built up a huge cult following through his youtube channel by creating bootleg remixes of popular Korean and Japanese songs. His bootleg of Girls’ Generation ‘Visual Dreams’ has nearly clocked up a million views alone…..
His fanbase soon spread to the blogosphere when he remixed Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’. The remix picked up support from Australian Radio station Triple J and was recently included on the deluxe edition of the Drive film soundtrack.
He remix of Chilly Gonzales’ ‘You Can Dance’ also recieved plentiful radio support with it being playlisted on Ministry Of Sound and plays from Jaymo & George (Radio 1). Not to mention big name DJ support from the likes of A-Trak & Busy P.
And his latest remix of Dj Shadow’s ‘Scale It Back’ got the nod from the man himself…
It’s musical, it’s fresh without being cheesy…and, it POUNDS. Whatever path Robotaki chooses to follow, it’s obvious that musical ability comes naturally to him. What an honor it is to be the beneficiary of such a seemingly effortless and effective piece of music. - DJ Shadow
Robotaki’s highly-anticipated debut ep is due for release in the Summer. One of the ep tracks, ‘Raton Laveur’ was used in the soundtrack of the movie L’amour dure trois ans.
